WORK EXPERIENCE

 Telecommunications Lead Engineer | Sept 2017 to Jan 2023

National Electricity and Water Company (Morocco)

• Ensured the establishment of the annual capital expenditures of the Operating System directorate:

– Participation in the definition of the new projects ;

– Planning of the achievement schedules ;

– Following the validation procedures with the internal departments;

– Launching different type of tenders for the new projects ;

– Attachment of the commissioned works in the SAP Suite ;

– Reporting ;

– More than 40 projects of diverse natures and sizes.

• Ensured the engineering and the development of the private telecommunication network of the national

electricity company, established the design and supervised the execution of the telecommunications works

related to the electrical infrastructures (fiber optics across high voltage lines, telecommunication equipment

based on Power Line Carrier, Wavelength division multiplexing, Synchronous Digital Hierarchy and

Multiprotocol Label Switching solutions) for :

– 400 kV, 225 kV and 60 kV Substations and power lines projects (120 Substations and 5000 km

en fiber optics)

– Power plants ( 2 coal plant)

– Wind and solar farms ( 8 farms)

• Studied, monitored and commissioned the following project :

– Live line installation of optical power ground cable of “KHENIFRA – ERRACHIDIA” 225 kV power

line (total budget of 4.5 M$, contractor : SUZHOU FURUKAWA)

– Live line installation of optical power ground cable of the evacuation 225 kV power lines of the

power plant JORF LASFAR (total budget of 1.1 M$, contractor: SUZHOU FURUKAWA)

– Upgrade of the power line transmission network for the remote control of the electrical

transmission network (total budget: 1.6 M$. contractor: GE GRID SOLUTIONS) ;

• Studied, established the specifications of the following project:

– Migration of the optical fiber transmission system from SDH to MPLS solution (total budget of 18

M$) :

 Organization of workshops with different vendors (NOKIA, OTN Systems, ABB, SIEMENS,

GE, HUAWEI, ZTE)

 Comparative study of different technologies. Key parameters: asymmetric delay,

latency, reliability, circuit emulation procedures, PTP 1588V2 and Synch-E

synchronization, security, scalability, routing and QoS features.

 Preparation and supervising of proofs of concept;

 Establishment of the administrative and technical part of the tender application ;

– Rehabilitation of the remote load shedding system associated with the MOROCCO-SPAIN

interconnections (( total budget of 1 M$)

 Definition of the telecommunication architecture of the project ;

 Study of different shedding scenarios and impact on the national grid ;

 Establishment of the administrative and technical part of the tender application ;

 Selection of the contractor ;

• Managed different proof of concepts :

– MPLS-TP solutions of OTN systems

– Digital PLC solutions (SIEMENS, ABB and ZIV DIMAT)

• Studied the application requests from the telecommunications operators for the rental of

telecommunications services (optical fiber, space, etc.);

• Participated in the migration of the QMS from standard ISO 9001 version 2008 to version 2015;

• Ensured the management of one of the QMS processes (new telecommunications studies and projects)

• Managed the central telecommunications teams and provided technical support to the regional teams ;

& Data center manager Directorate (interim head) | August 2019 to Jan 2023;

• Ensured the operation of technical environment facilities including the transformers, power supply

stations, uninterruptible power supplies, technical air-conditioning and fire detection and extinction

systems of the national and backup load dispatch centers ;

• Launched the tender “audit of technical environment facilities of the national and backup dispatch

centers” and selection of contractor :

– Study of the existing system ;

– identification of anomalies and non-conformities ;

– Proposition of solutions for the standardization of the existing systems ;

• Participated in the establishing of the national load dispatch center emergency plan during the covid-19

pandemic and ensured the continuity of service related to the environment facilities.
