Centre Assistant

The Kanata South Kumon Centre offers after school leanring to children aged 3 – 16 of all abilities and backgrounds.  We are seeking a mature, dedicated and energetic part-time Kumon Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will focus on the youngest students, preschoolers and kindergartners, but may work with other groups as needed.

The assistant must have a passion for early childhood education and the ability to create a structured and nurturing learning environment for our students. As a Preschool Assistant, you will work closely with lead instructors to implement the Kumon curriculum for preschool-aged children, focusing on developing their cognitive, social, and motor skills. Your responsibilities will include understanding the framework and objectives of the Kumon program, apply that framework in training students on centre routine, doing their daily assignments, preparing materials, fostering a love of learning, building towards independent study, maintaining a safe and clean work area, and providing individualized attention to students.

The successful candidate should be a multitasker, have excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to manage behaviours as well as engage young children in learning activities.
