On occasion, the NAC may impose the wearing of masks and the enforcement of rapid testing should it be deemed reasonable and necessary to do so.

Consequently, staff members are expected to return to the workplace as required, or perform a combination of remote work and work from the National Arts Centre (NAC). The NAC presents, creates, produces, and co-produces performing arts programming in various streams—the NAC Orchestra, Dance, English Theatre, French Theatre, Indigenous Theatre, and Popular Music and Variety—and nurtures the next generation of audiences and artists from across Canada.

The Associate Development Officer (Events) will report to the Chief of Events and Protocol and work in close collaboration with other members of the NAC Foundation team to assist in the planning and execution of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards Gala, the NAC Gala, and other major fundraising and corporate events that serve to raise the profile of the National Arts Centre. The role also includes administrative support for the Events and Stewardship Team.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and diligence skills. Experience dealing with a variety of stakeholders (such as private and public agencies, high level government representatives, and members of the donor and sponsor community). Ability to meet tight deadlines with multiple projects happening simultaneously leading to the ability to adapt quickly, propose solutions and anticipate potential issues in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent should have the ability to evaluate and manage priorities and work well in a team environment.
· Completion of a College or equivalent degree in Event Management or Fundraising plus a minimum of two (2) years related experience in a similar role;
· At least one (1) year experience in customer relations/customer service role;
· Proven computer abilities in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel;
· Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of projects and activities simultaneously;
· Attention to detail, precision and adaptability;
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to multi-task;
· Excellent decision making and problem-solving abilities;
· Ability to cope with high volume of work and strict deadlines;
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and well within a strong team;
· Demonstrated success in working in cross-departmental teams;
· Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge database software, or similar fundraising software is an asset;
· Fluently bilingual in both official languages both verbal and written with strong communication and interpersonal skills, considered an asset;
· A passion for the performing Arts in Canada.
