Analytics Department:
The Analytics Department, a collaboration between OHRI and TOH, strives for excellence in patient care, research, and innovation by providing accurate and timely data, enabling data-driven decisions, and fostering data literacy. The Analytics team leads data governance and performance measurement initiatives, shapes strategy, creates reporting and data access solutions, offers education and training, and provides client services to hospital operations and the research community. Their work is supported by a thorough understanding and analysis of hospital administrative and clinical data repositories and by working in partnership with healthcare leaders, physicians, staff, and other internal and external partners.

Job Description
The Analytics Department is looking for a Methodologist to support the Department of Medicine with the analysis and interpretation of relevant clinical data from different data systems, the creation of key performance indicators, and the creation of reporting and data visualization solutions in various platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Department of Medicine to support its quality mandate and the use of data and analytics to make positive change.

Responsibilities:
•Handle incoming data requests: meeting with stakeholders, understanding requirements, querying data repositories, cleaning and transforming data, conducting exploratory and statistical analyses, and producing meaningful reports and visualizations.
•Support the design and develop of key performance indicators, meaningful reports, presentations, and data visualizations for the Department of Medicine
•Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and a deep understanding of the subject area and data nuances.
•Document work and create user support tools using standard practice guidelines.
•Take part in Analytics team initiatives to enhance our information & analytical knowledge base, standards of practice, and reporting solutions.

Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
•MSc in Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Public Health, or related field
•Data management programming experience (e.g. SQL, SAS)
•Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g. SAS, R)
•Experience building dashboards and data visualizations using Excel, PowerBI, or similar tools.
•Experience analyzing healthcare or other large data.
•Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
•Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
•Aptitude for research methodology and attention to detail
•Comfortable learning and using technology, including Office365 products.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Previous project management experience
•Previous healthcare analytical experience or experience working with electronic healthcare system data or healthcare coded data (e.g. ICD/CCI coding)
•Knowledge of analytic methods applied to health services research.
•Demonstrated initiative in the workplace.

Contract Details:
All positions are offered as two-year contracts to start with the intention of renewal. The salary range for the Methodologist II position is $33.953 – $48.957/hr.?
Salary will be commensurate with skills, education, and experience. Employees will be entitled to medical, dental, and pension benefits in addition to 3 weeks paid vacation per annum.
