Job Description
The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Assistant II for a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension. The individual will be responsible for patient recruitment, data collection, data entry, and ethics submissions for a multitude of ongoing clinical research trials under the general direction of Scientists, Research Coordinators, and the Research Program Manager. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced team environment.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Data collection and data entry
• Screening, recruitment, enrolment, and follow-up of study participants
• Close communication with surgeons, principal investigators, and other members of the research team
• Research ethics board submissions
• Assistance with manuscript and abstract submissions
• Assistance with the grant submission process
• Liaising with various TOH departments, REB/contracts office, sponsors, and external collaborators.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
• A secondary diploma
• 2 years of prior research experience.
• Evidence of training certification in Tri-Council Policy Statement -2 (TCPS-2) and the International Council on Harmonisation – Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP)
• Evidence of training in Food and Drug Regulations, Division 5, and/or Device Regulations, as applicable
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Strong computer skills: MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a healthcare setting
• Bilingual (English and French)
• Knowledge of orthopaedics
Contract Details:
This is a 1-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal.
Salary: Min: $24.682/hr – Max: $29.076/hr
