Hours: Five (5) days of work (35 hours per week). Please note that, for training purposes, employees will be scheduled from 9:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Following successful completion of the training program, the employee will be assigned a seven (7) hour afternoon-evening shift that will commence as early at 12:00 p.m. and end no later than 9:30 p.m. Employees will be assigned two (2) consecutive days of rest; these days will be confirmed on the monthly schedule.
Hourly rate: $21.92

COVID-19 Pandemic
The incumbent may be required to work remotely either full-time or in a hybrid fashion until the end of the pandemic. All necessary working tools needed to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of this position will be provided to the employee for this purpose.
Resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure the safety of all NAC employees, and in keeping with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) guidelines, it is recommended that while working from the NAC employees should wear masks. Whether individuals decide to wear a mask or not, we thank you for being respectful of others’ choices. Additionally, it is recommended to follow OPH guidelines on workplace preventive practices, (such as distancing, masking when distancing is not possible, ventilation, cleaning, workplace testing, and screening programs) to help prevent transmission.
On occasion, the NAC may impose the wearing of masks and the enforcement of rapid testing should it be deemed reasonable and necessary to do so.
Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to report into the National Arts Centre (NAC) building full-time, effective your first date of employment.

Key activities:
Under the direction of the Senior Box Office Coordinator, the Box Office Specialist engages with and nurtures relationships with our customers in order to develop long-term loyalty. By handling patron inquiries, helping customers find just the right tickets or subscription package, by proactively offering information and items to enhance the customers’ experience, by consistently and accurately recording and using key customer data and by striving for first contact problem resolution, the Box Office Specialist provides gold-standard patron care. The Box Office Specialist also helps with outreach efforts to connect further with our Patrons and performs other administrative activities associated with event promotions and ticket sales.
Required qualifications:
• Fluently bilingual in both official languages;
• High School degree with a minimum of one year of related experience;
• Experience in customer service;
• Experience in dealing with various monetary transactions;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work well under pressure and with a team;
• Ability to follow detailed instructions;
• Strong problem-solving skills, organizational ability and initiative;
• Familiarity and comfort with a computerized environment;
• Experience in ticket sales is an asset;
• Experience in Microsoft Teams is an asset;
• A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement*.
