Louis W Bray Construction is looking for students to join our team from May to August this summer.

 

Do you like working outdoors? Do you want to be part of a major infrastructure project in Ottawa? Are you interested in rolling up your sleeves in heavy civil construction? That’s great! We are looking for people just like you!

THIS IS NOT your regular summer job; it requires you to work outdoors in all kinds of weather and can be physically demanding. However, the work is rewarding, knowing you are part of a team helping to improve Ottawa’s infrastructure.

Louis W Bray Construction is a family-owned and operated Heavy Civil General Contractor, but we are more than just your regular heavy civil construction company. Our employees never feel like a number or another cog in the wheel. Every employee is an integral part of the organization. We work together, we play together, and we get involved together.

 

Anticipated Start Date: May 2023

 

What are some of the things you will be doing?

Follow the Company’s health and safety requirements.
Provide support to Site Supervisor through various hands-on construction and site tasks.
Using powered tools such as Jackhammers, Chipping concrete, and concrete removal.
Prepare sites and clean up rubble and debris to ensure a safe and well-maintained construction site.
Removing forms from set concrete, painting and other related tasks
Load, unload and transport supplies, equipment and construction materials.
Move tools, equipment, machinery and construction material to and from work areas.
Assist in the erection and dismantling of concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades.
Perform other duties as required.

 

What are the requirements?

Must be 16 years of age or older to work on a Construction site as per the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Access to reliable transportation.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is considered an asset.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lb.
Able to work 10-hour days Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm

Previous experience in the construction industry, landscaping, or manual labour is an asset.
