Compensation depending on experience

 

Job Duties:

Apply solid knowledge of construction techniques to help with various tasks (e.g. crack injection, concrete pouring and patching).
Assist in excavating, demolition, formwork, waterproofing, landscaping, finishing, and all other aspects of general construction
Assist with the forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete projects as required
Install rebar and tie rebar
Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade, desired pitch and depth
Spread, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand tools and power tools
Operate various hand power equipment, such as jackhammers, saws, grinders, drills and injection pumps.
Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tool, jointer and straight edge
Monitor how the wind, heat or cold affect the concrete throughout the process
Build, erect, align and dismantle forms for various concrete structures and pier foundations utilizing concrete forming systems
Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace using hand tools.
Load and unload construction materials and move materials to the work area
Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment; cleans up worksite debris
perform any other construction labour-related tasks as required
Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years experience in concrete forming and finishing experience and Construction experience.
Must be punctual and reliable.
Good verbal communication skills, positive attitude and ability to work as a team
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outside in all types of weather.
Familiarity with bridge formwork/construction would be an asset.
