This position is for an ATE/hardware validation engineer, with experience in designing hardware and software for testing and characterizing mixed-signal ICs and Intellectual Property (IP) silicon.

You will be part of our growing Nepean lab team that validates Synopsys’ bleeding edge memory interface IP. In collaboration with firmware and design groups, you will validate and characterize chip designs on the ATE platform by conducting and crafting experiments in addition to collecting, examining and documenting measurement data. You will develop and implement test procedures to produce consistent results, thus ensuring reliable functionality of Synopsys IP.

To succeed in this role, you will rely on your know-how of ATE testing with strong data analysis and reporting background and apply it to DDR memory protocols,

Duties:

Perform silicon qualification, validation, characterization, debug of DDR IP products.
Test program generation and data collection on ATE tester (Teradyne J750)
Automation of bench top lab equipment using Python.
Validate reliability of IP by assessing results of various tests such as HBM, CDM, Latch-up and HTOL.
Generate characterization reports and presentations showing IP performance and functionality.
Develop, standardize, and improve silicon test methodologies.
Address customer issues by providing detailed debug, guidance, and drive issues to resolution

Job Requirements:

Electrical or Computer Engineering degree
6+ years of experience with SOC validation and ATE
Previous knowledge of ATE programing with testers such as Teradyne ATE or LTX or Advantest.
Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Matlab, Python, Visual Basic, Verilog, TCL, PERL
Familiar with operating test instruments and making precision measurements with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers
Excellent organization and communication skills
Self-motivation, problem solving and attention to detail.
Hands-on lab/debug experience with validating of digital / analog blocks.
Familiar with reading and troubleshooting board schematics and layouts
Knowledge of hardware/PCB design
Experience with vector conversion from verification/simulation
Experience in DDR protocols is a plus
Experience with data/statistical analysis for a volume of data is an asset.
