REPORTS TO: Executive Director
Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for attracting qualified candidates to fill vacancies within the Ottawa Safety Council’s Crossing Guard Program. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the HR team and School Zone Safety Program Manager to recruit dedicated candidates for the organization.
Job requirements
· Sources and assesses candidates using a variety of sourcing techniques such as social networking, job boards, and public outreach (e.g. job fairs, community associations meetings, etc.)
· Reviews resumes and conducts in person / virtual interviews of applicants
· Utilizes the Internet, social media, and professional websites for recruitment, as well as external recruitment agencies and job centers if necessary
· Review, interview, and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility
· Provide selected candidates with a conditional offer of employment (verbal or written), confirm employment, and schedule the orientation session
· Compiles and maintains a database of applicants including statistics
· Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wage, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
· Support the orientation and training for all new employees and volunteers
· Assists in recording and tracking supplied equipment
· Provide administrative program support
· And other duties as required
What you’ll bring to the table
· Post-secondary school education with a specialization in liberal arts, social sciences, recreation, hospitality, HR, and/ or tourism
· 2 – 3 years related experience in social services, hospitality, service industry, membership recruitment, and/or volunteer engagement
· Proficiency in Recruitee and / or ADP recruitment tools is an asset
· High level proficiency with MS Office suite of tools is required.
· A strong commitment to customer service with experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to effectively meet set out KPIs
· Ability to work in fast-paced and demanding environment and to work collaboratively in a team
· Fluency in English is required, fluency in French is an asset
· Valid drivers license and access to a car is essential

Working Conditions
Some travel is required
Primarily the work is completed during regular office hours, though may require occasional weekend or evening work
Ability to attend and conduct presentations
