General description:

Reporting to the Controller, the Finance Administrator is a key player on the finance team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

•       Weekly Payroll processing for 250+ employees

•      Train and support Distinctives, and other companies commissions and payroll

•      Review all timesheets are accurate and correct

•      Send out welcome emails to new union hires

•       Review all new hire packages are completed correctly and enter new employee information into HRIS system

•       Create and maintain employee files

•       Prepare new employee contracts

•       Process termination pay and complete ROEs

•       Prepare and transmit payroll source deductions

•       Prepare and transmit employee T4 slips

•       Follow up with employees on Health and Safety certifications.

•       Administer group benefits and review group benefit deductions are accurate

•       Union and source deduction (EHT, CPP, El, WSIB, CSSNT) remittances

•       Act a point of contact for employees regarding payroll

•       Maintain S&R policies and procedures (and document properly)

•       Help prepare and facilitate training sessions

•       Support the Finance team as needed

•      Support Health and Safety department with Site Doc maintenance

•      Manage and maintain employee reward programs

•      Support the Operations team as needed

•       Ad hoc projects

•       Provide general support to the finance team, the Controller, President, and VP Operations

Education: High School Diploma and relevant post-secondary courses and/or education is an asset.

Experience: 2 years of experience.

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience preparing payroll for 250+ employees.

Experience administering group benefits program including employee bonus program and other incentive programs

Experience working in unionized workplace.

Experience generating employment agreements.

Experience processing separation pay and filing records of employment (ROE) with Service Canada.

Experience setting up HR files when onboarding new hires.

Experience with developing and offering company training.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary team including finance professionals and company executives.

Must be self-directed and possess effective communication and organizational skills and be a team player.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week – Monday-Friday. Overtime as may be required.

Languages of work: English

Wages: $60,000 annually, incremental wage increases.
