• Respond to women in crisis who call the Fem’aide help  line. I practice different types of intervention with women, including therapeutic intervention, intervention that works and strengthens the forces of victims, intervention that motivates decision-making, intervention that sensitizes and raises awareness, the intervention that generates and explores with the victim her options and the intervention that informs the victim about the resources available to her

• Active listening and emotional support: education and awareness about conflict and violence

• Assess the needs of appellants. I use different tools to assess the needs of victims such as my knowledge of trauma, identity and emotional needs, the equality wheel, the cycle of violence, and the wheel of power and control

• Provide a safety plan developed for women and their children who have experienced domestic violence to ensure their immediate safety. In my interventions, I encourage victims to be aware of the security risks and to protect themselves. I use my organization’s Redwood tools and customized risk management plans to conduct victim risk assessments.

•  Refer callers to appropriate services. I very often refer victims to community resources to help them according to their needs.
